VISITATION AND COMPANION POLICY

COMPANION POLICY

  • In inpatient clinics, only 1 companion can stay with the patient. The second companion is required to pay the fee. Only food service is provided to the second companion.

  • There is only one companion armchair in each patient room. It is set by the unit contact in the evening and gathered in the morning.

  • Companions may assist the patient's care to the extent permitted.

  • It is not allowed to have a companion in intensive care units.

  • The patients' diets are specific to them. It is not allowed to bring food, beverage or fruit to the hospital.

  • Cell phones should be set to silent mode in the hospital.

  • It is forbidden to throw trash on the ground.

  • Smoking is prohibited in the hospital.

  • It is not appropriate to speak loudly in the patient’s room.

  • Except for the meals given by the hospital, nothing should be eaten or drunk near the patient.

  • Visitors should not sit on patient beds.

  • The hospital materials such as IV drip and oxygen manometer should not be touched.

  • Companions should pay attention to hand hygiene.

  • The room and the belongings of the patient should be kept clean and should not be damaged.

  • Suggestions should be reported to the nurse in charge of the service or written in the surveys in the suggestion box.

VISITATION POLICY

  • Visiting hours in our hospital are from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm everyday. (Visiting hours may vary in intensive care units.)

  • The duration of the visitation should take a short time. (preferably 10-15 minutes)

  • There should not be more than two visitors per patient.

  • Visitors should not sit on patient beds.

  • The hospital materials such as IV drip and oxygen manometer should not be touched

  • Visitors should pay attention to hand hygiene.

  • It is not appropriate to speak loudly in the patient’s room.

  • It is not appropriate to eat or drink near the patient.

  • Gifts that can be brought to patients can be books, flowers or cologne

  • Other patients should not be disturbed during the visit and unnecessary questions should not be asked.

  • Patient privacy must be respected.

  • During the visitation, demoralizing words and behaviors should be avoided.

  • Unnecessary and persistent visitation requests should not be made besides visiting hours.

  • At the end of the visiting hour, the hospital should be left without waiting for the warnings of the staff.

  • Children under the age of 12 should not be brought to visit, considering their health.

  • The department/service nurse may limit the number of visitors or visiting hours

  • considering the situation of the patient himself/herself or other patients with whom he/she shares his/her room.

  • The patients' diets are specific to them. It is not allowed to bring food, beverage or fruit to the hospital.
