ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
Medar Hospitals fulfills its duties by being respectful to the environment, sensitive and aware of its responsibilities while working with a high quality service mentality in line with its mission and vision.
For this purpose; we

Fulfill all relevant requirements of all local and national laws and regulations related to the environment.

Create a specific waste management plan in order to identify the wastes generated and to remove them in a way that does not threaten the health of patients and employees.

Separate the wastes, minimize the hazards of existing wastes to the environment and sort out the recyclables.

Deliver the non-recyclable wastes to the relevant institutions for disposal in accordance with laws and regulations.

Raise awareness and educate all our staff about the environment.
BREASTFEEDING POLICY

. The Ministry of Health accepts that breast milk is the most efficient food for babies.

In order to protect, encourage and support breast milk and breastfeeding, the breastfeeding policy, which is shared with staff and parents at regular intervals, has been prepared and adopted.

. International law regarding the marketing of infant formulas has been adopted in all departments of our hospitals. Advertising and marketing of breast milk products is not allowed in our hospitals.

. A baby-friendly hospital committee has been established in our hospitals, and data monitoring and sustainability studies in this area proceed in cooperation.

. All our healthcare staff have received in-service education in line with this policy and are competent to support mothers.

. All pregnant women who apply to our hospitals are informed about the importance of breast milk, the benefits of breastfeeding and its methods.

. Mothers are provided with skin-to-skin contact with their babies and they are supported to start breastfeeding as soon as possible and to maintain uninterrupted contact.

. Mothers are taught how to breastfeed, breastfeeding methods and how they can continue to lactate when they are separated from their babies.

. Unless medically necessary, newborns are not given any food or beverage other than breast milk.

. Families are informed about the importance of breastfeeding only for the first 6 months and the continuation of breastfeeding up to the age of 2 and beyond, along with appropriate complementary nutrition.

. Mother and baby stay in the same room for 24 hours during their stay in our hospital.

. Breastfeeding is encouraged by supporting mothers to recognize and respond to the signs their babies give when they are hungry.

. Babies are not given pacifiers and bottles and families are informed about the risks.

. Before discharge, parents are informed about the centers where they will have access to continuous support and care services for breastfeeding their babies. After discharge, mother and baby are followed and encouraged to breastfeed.
